Yong special with a wing! Bet this would work good anywhere. WHere do you find the spools of Glamour Madera? Havent' been able to find any in Denver at any of the craft store/
Hey Juan-Great idea with the wing on the Yong Special. I have used the Yong Flasher with some success. Is that the same spool of Glamour Madera that I sent you last year? I found it at the Creative Needle on South Broadway in Denver. Here is their web site http://www.thecreativeneedle.com/
Thanks Jerry for the link. If they have it, I may have to get another spool. I still have a bunch but I am a fly tier and have to have 2 of everything, even if I never use it all.
Thanks for sharing, Juan. Do you tie them in a size 16 or 18 or pretty much 20 and smaller. I struggle with seeing well enough to tie really small midge patterns.
I have only tied this in a #20 and smaller. I guess you could do it in a#16 or 18, but the body would be pretty small for the size of the hook. The best thing about the size of thread, is that it is perfect for the smaller hooks. If you go bigger, you might be able to use embroidery thread. It is a bit bigger than this thread.

ReplyDeleteCheck out the place that Jerry listed. If they don't have it, you will have to look online for a spool.

DeleteNice quick little bug that will fish really well! That little bit of flash will go along way in turning the trout on!
ReplyDeleteIt sure will. It just has a bit of flash and acts as a trigger.
