Tying the Colorado Caddis

I first saw this little bug over on Midgeman's old blog and being the simple little thing it is, I fell in love with it.  After tying and fishing a few of these things, I knew that they would always have a place in my box.

The Colorado Caddis, tied in either green or cream, will cover most of your caddis species during the hatch.  This little bug will work well when there is not a hatch too.  Tie it heavy or light, It will work well for you.

  3. Brian!!! Where is the new blog buddy? Yea, this is similar, but a bit different and I like the look of this one better than Lafontaine's bug.
Bill-This one is tied in size 16. I tie them in 14-18.

  4. Stellar bug, Juan! I must have missed it on Midgeman's stuff before he switched blogs.

I don't have access to Facebook at work so I am going to ask my question here. What kind of camera do you use to film your flies? Your videos turn out amazing. Any idea how I can get them on my iPod since I can't get Vimeo on it?

  6. Scott,

As far as I know, you can only get the videos to play on iPods or iPads if you are a Plus member. Of course, you have to pay for that. There might be some 3rd party software you could use but....
As for the camera and set up, I hope to do a post on this soon. I have had several people ask. And thanks for all the comments everyone! I appreciate it.

  7. I've always wondered how to consistantly get the hackle to lay back at an angle on the various caddis pupae patterns. Great little technique using the bead like that.
