A class to cover different patterns and how to tie midges. This class is aimed toward the beginnig tier as well as the more advanced tier. The flies covered will be some of the more popular and successful patterns out there. While midges are small and easy to tie, if one does not know where to start or how to imitate the naturals, this class will teach you what you need to know. Patterns we will cover include: U.V. Pearl Jam Midge, K.F. Emerger, UFO Midge, Flasher UFO Midge, Rainbow Warrior, Rojo Midge and the CDC Hanging Midge. This will be a great class to get you started in tying great flies.

It amazes me that midge larva are little more than a colored hook. I'm astonished at how such a sparse pattern will entice a fish to think it is food and eat it when the predominate part of the pattern is the chunk of iron hanging below the wrap of thread from the bend to the barb-tip. You would think the fish would think there's something wrong with it. Obviously not. Therefore the splash of color is what catches the eye to the exclusion of all else....Amazing.
ReplyDeleteA FISH'S EYESIGHT IS NOT AS GREAT AS ONE WOULD THINK, IT IS MORE THE NATURAL MOVEMENT AND COLOR OF THE PATTERN AS A NATURAL INSECT ALONG WITH A FISH BEING IN A FEEDING MODE. AS ONE FLYTYER SAID PRESENTATION, PRESENTATION, PRESENTATION
