I've been tying a lot lately and I wanted to share a few images with you guys. One item that I recently purchased is the Mirco Magic Tool by Marc Petijean. If you tie small flies using CDC as well as small soft hackles, this is the tool you need. I have only played around with it for a few days, but with that, I can say that it is well with it. All the soft hackle images below are tied with this tool. I have been using some Brahma Hen hackles as well as Coq De Leon Saddle Hackle for these soft hackles. These feathers are too long for small soft hackles, but with the tool, it makes it easy to get the right size. I'll have to do a video on how it works.

Nature's Spirit compare deer hair or cow elk. It's the best hair out there and it's all I use.

DeleteAny difference between their 'Humpy hair' and 'Compara dun hair'?
Yes. The humpy hair is longer and works great for stimulators and humpys, which require longer hair. The compara dun hair is great because the hair is short and hollow and is awesome for short wings and compara style wings that need to float. To many people use worthless deer hair that wants to sink and wonder why the fly doesn't float.

DeleteIsn't Comparadun hair also a bit more delicate than the Humpy hair? Pulling hard on the hair will probably cut through (like on the stage where you tie the hump vs wings area).
The CD hair is much shorter, depending on the patch you get. Some of it is really short and fine. The CD hair is finer therefore more delicate. The jumpy hair is usually tied in further down towards the stem of the hair where it is thicker and therefore stronger.
