I always try to stay ahead of the game. Tying hoppers and caddis in January and tying midges in July. I am not sure if that is planning ahead or just 6 months behind?

Really some good looking patterns Juan!
ReplyDeleteThanks MM! I hope you come back with lots of stories!
DeleteReally nice looking flies, better tie some myself for the winter. How well do the purple ones fish.
ReplyDeletePurple is a great color. I also tie and fish purple baetis nymphs. They are surprisingly good. I even have a few purple RS2s stashed away. Give them a try next time you fish midges.
DeleteDo i see a captain glitter pants hiding in there?
ReplyDeleteMaybe not Mr. Glitter Pants himself, but a close relative of him! I tried tying it in different colors, but the purple one just looked the coolest. Its a great looking color combo. Thanks for the inspiration Mr. Glitter Pants.
DeleteI've tied it in purple and black and green holo flash.
DeleteBut purple fishes the best. For those persnickety fish, the stripped peacock herl palmered tones it down. Thanks for sharing!!
I still need to tie flies for this fall. You are really ahead of the game. Nice looking flies.
ReplyDeleteJerry-did I show you that CDC Spun dun at the shows? That is the one you need to be tying. It was the one I used the Marc Petijean magic tool on.
DeleteI don't think so. Do you have it on your site? Video or photos? Where can I see it? Sounds inviting. Jerry
DeleteMy good friend Chuck told me purple fly ties don't work, I'm sticking with that....
ReplyDeletePurple? That's a hot pearl-per fly tie.
