Last year, I shot a video on how to tie the Chubby Chernobyl. It has gained a reputation over the last few years as a great attractor pattern. It's easy to tie, to see and floats a dropper with ease. This is one way to tie it and may not be the original way it was tied. I do not know who created this pattern, but have heard that several people take credit for it. I take credit for doing this video. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to learn how to fish this on the Arkansas River with me.
Awesome video. Never get tired of watching them. Great pattern and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ben! I hope to get some more time soon to get some of my patterns down on film and post them up.
DeleteThe CC has been killer for Salmonfly imitations the last couple years now
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with it as it is so easy to change the color to match your conditions or bug of choice. Have fun!
DeleteAnother great one Juan. I've never seen this before, but will be sure to add it to my flybox.
ReplyDeleteHoward,
DeleteYou will enjoy this fly. Its a great pattern.
Great video! The other nice thing about this fly is it can float an anvil.
ReplyDeleteYes, you can put pretty much anything underneath this darn thing!
DeleteNice video Juan. I have seen this fly tied in a very similar way. Thanks for sharing. I think this will become one of my go to flies to fish a dry-dropper. What are you planning for the next video? I enjoy watching your work. Jerry
ReplyDeleteJerry, I hope to get some of my other patterns that I haven't done yet including the Hollywood Hopper, the Sniper Baetis, the PMD Ice Emerger and some other patterns like a stimulator and maybe some more standard patterns like a Prince and Hot Wired Prince. Any requests?
DeleteI like Princes. I hear the hot wire is a great off shoot of the regular Prince. That would be a good one. Also, PMD time is coming. That should make it next. Just my 2 cents. Jerry
ReplyDeletemy favorite hopper pattern
ReplyDeleteTe copio la Chubby, Juan, que seguro que funciona con los grandes barbos de por aquí. Un saludo desde España. Gracias por tus diseños.
ReplyDeleteare you ever going to update your blog again?
ReplyDeleteOne of these days when I get a minute to spare I will. I've been going 120 miles an hour and although i have been able to get out some, I don't have any pictures or good stories to share. I'll get something up soon, even if it a tall tale.
ReplyDeleteClick Here if you want to try out another adventure. If you are into fly fishing, why don’t you try out other means? Hunting in all forms is fun. You just shouldn’t be afraid to experiment.
