Here are a few of the patterns I have been tying over the winter. Why tie flies for winter fishing when spring and summer are right around the corner? Yep, that's what I thought too.

Really nice ties there Juan! However, you've got me hooked on hoppers so it might be a while before I get to any of these.
ReplyDeleteHoppers are always a good choice! Keep tying them.
DeleteGreat looking flies!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anglo. Will you be at the West Denver tying event?
DeleteI was planning on going, but was unable to get the day off.
DeleteI really like the foam caddis. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jay.
DeleteI take it that you are expecting caddis!! You are certainly ready for any eventuality. Nice ties and photos. See you next Saturday, Jerry
ReplyDeleteJerry, Low water or drought years have always had better dry fly fishing than normal or high water years. Gotta look at it in a positive light. See you soon.
DeleteWith all the foam on those babies, you might put the floatant people out of business. LOL.
ReplyDeleteMark
Dang you have a fine hand at the bench! You are an inspiration Juan~ mike
ReplyDeleteThanks RW! I appreciate it. That's what is good about the web. I see inspiration at other places and bring it here to pass along.
DeleteHey Juan,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I follow you on Facebook too.
I'm trying to figure out the Sample Foam X Caddis. It looks to me like the body is dubbed, or is that foam? Dubbing over foam?
Dave
Dave, thanks for following. The body on that Caddis is foam. I used Rainey's evazote foam cut thin and wrapped. It works good and has a good color. The color is camel. I think it is about 1/8" thick. I had no other use for that foam until this.
DeleteHey Juan,
ReplyDeleteCan you share with us which emerger and adult pattern do you like to use on Colorado Arkansas during the spring hatch? Is it any of these or something different?
