As a follow up to the Royal Gorgeous, here is the Juanna Be Hopper Juan. The little brother of the HJ, it's designed for the smaller streams and smaller fish that live in them. It still has a good amount of foam and float-ability so it can hang with the big boys, or maybe I should say that it can hold up some big boys! Throw on a Royal Gorgeous and fish some of the smaller pockets and seams and see what happens. You might be surprised!

This is the little brother to the full grown Hopper Juan. It is designed for early and later in summer when fish have seen all the big hoppers that all the companies tie and sell. It pretty easy to tie, give it a try.
Thank you for this, I'll have to tie some of these.
ReplyDeleteJuan- Good looking bug. Any chance you have some photos of the TU donation box on hand?
ReplyDeletevery nice! I love tying smaller hoppers
ReplyDeleteGreat looking little varition on your hopper and you gotta love the name. As dry as it's been so far down here in the low country I'm betting your hoppers are going to see a lot of work come summer!
ReplyDeleteAwesome video. Thanks for sharing. I cant wait to tie this guy.

ReplyDeleteNice variation again Juan~
ReplyDeleteJuan, tie this in all black as a beetle; works great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Juan! I've been looking for a new hopper pattern to tie!
ReplyDeleteNice! Do you still use the medium cutter when tying on the #14 or do you drop down to the small cutter?
ReplyDeleteThe # 14 will have to be on the small cutter. There isn't too much room on that hook!
ReplyDeletelove it buddy
